Part 1
An example of foreshadowing that I saw in just this first section would be the fact that George said to Lennie that if Lenny ever gets in trouble then he needs to come to the brush by the pond and wait for George to come and help him. I think that this is an amazing example of foreshadowing because the author gives us clues that this same sort of thing has happened before on different ranches. He said that Lennie and George have had to run away from multiple farms for misbehaving. Another example of foreshadowing was that Lennie said he would run away from George and leave him alone. I think that this is a good example because George was yelling at how stupid Lennie was and that without lennie George could be much better off by himself. After George stops yelling at him Lennie says maybe he will leave. I think that this might happen in the story, but based off of prior knowledge from the gallery walk and Mr. Kay's prelude to the story, I know that this probably won't happen.
